Crazy Bibliophile and Book Pimp (Not So Anonymous)

I am a mother of two boys and avid reader; I practically live and breathe books. If I could sustain my life on just reading, I would live forever. I'm weird, and proud of it. I have traveled to many places: Mexico, St. Marteen, Prague, England, Cozumel, and Canada to name a few. Many moons ago I co-hosted "Welcome to Insanity" radio show on a micro radio station in TX- but our show was played via streaming internet in coffee houses in Amsterdam. I have a BA in theater. I used to be "the finder of lost things" but I think my last child robbed me of my gift. Now I just have a large collection of useless information... it goes with my growing mountain of "to be read" books

Currently reading

Power of the Moon (Volume 1) - Tina Carreiro There are just SO many good things about this book! I loved the steam, and the wrestling of egos between the characters. Too bad law enforcement I've met haven't quite stacked up next to Cole. There was such wit

"Yep, they think I'm a whack job."

"Oh my God, save a horse, ride a cowboy."

"That's what you said before, and then you tried to eat me!"

"Where was Neo when you needed him?"

"If this door opens and Tommy Lee Jones is on the other side, I'm going to freak the fuck out."

That last one always gets a chuckle out of me. I was thoroughly enthralled in the world and characters created. I've read in other reviews that Mia put some readers off... but maybe I identify too well with her abrasive personality. I felt right at home with her. Her mother was too funny!

And one must not forget that by the end of the book, there will be the inevitable change of panties. Trust me, it's more than worth the read... and the change of panties.

"Mia was sure her panties were going to fall to the floor, willed there by his commanding stare."

Re-read of new edition Oct 2012- same rating, 4♥'s. I noticed the changing POV in this one more than I had in my first read, but I really think a large part of this was due to the fact that I formatted a PDF into mobi. I've noticed on many books that I do this, that it can make discussions between characters a little harder to follow due to the wonky formatting (after conversion). So I think that problem was created by Calibre. Overall, it's an intriguing take on vampires and other things that go bump in the night. Spicy love-in-an-elevator! I've also added even MORE quotes to my list of great bits from this book!

"Scotty, shields up!"

"Oooh... look, honey. Evet is using his big boy voice."

"I have my big vampire pants on today."

Be sure to check it out- I'm eagerly awaiting book two, Covet the Moon!
