Crazy Bibliophile and Book Pimp (Not So Anonymous)

I am a mother of two boys and avid reader; I practically live and breathe books. If I could sustain my life on just reading, I would live forever. I'm weird, and proud of it. I have traveled to many places: Mexico, St. Marteen, Prague, England, Cozumel, and Canada to name a few. Many moons ago I co-hosted "Welcome to Insanity" radio show on a micro radio station in TX- but our show was played via streaming internet in coffee houses in Amsterdam. I have a BA in theater. I used to be "the finder of lost things" but I think my last child robbed me of my gift. Now I just have a large collection of useless information... it goes with my growing mountain of "to be read" books

Addicted to Magic (Addicted, #1) - Brandi Salazar I'd go as high as 3½♥'s on this, but I had problems with the premise. There were contradictions, or at least something hinky in many scenes for me. While I've loved another book written by the same author, this one didn't rate as high.

I had issues with who 'knew' and who didn't about Jessica's secret. I thought her friend Amber was 'in' on it until she made a big 'to-do' about telling her. There are also several elements that were probably meant to be more hidden, less apparent... but they hit me on the head like a 2x4. There were some story elements that seemed disjointed, jumbled, almost like an abhorrent plot got twisted up with the intended plot. Overall, I was left frustrated.

I will say I am still eager to try all of this author's works. While this one didn't jazz me, I am still upbeat and optimistic about her writing in general.

I received a free eBook in exchange for an honest review. My thoughts are my own.
