This is the October Daye book I've been waiting to be written. Things that I have been wanting to see... it's there. In spades. This is book 6 in the October Daye series.
As with the entire series, this is an urban fantasy, not a paranormal romance. The romance is not absent, but it takes a back seat to characters and plot. In my attempt to not spoil anything, all I can say is I am fist pumping in the air like a mofo!
The overall direction of the plot left me a bit worried at first. How many times are there going to be missing kids, and then October has to go looking for them? Sounds more than a wee bit familiar; surprisingly, McGuire was able to still keep this story line unique for the most part.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Tybalt, always have, always will. Love that King of Cats! Anyone out there still early in this series, if you LOVE Tybalt like I do, hurry up and get to this book! You'll thank me later!
If you haven't tried this series, I recommend it to anyone that likes snarky dialogue, funny movies references, urban fantasy that is not porn...
Still LOVE Tybalt, and getting to listen
to the audio book, rather than reading was a new experience. I wasn't totally in love with Tybalt's 'voice' but I didn't hate it either. Toby was awesome, comedic delivery perfect (for those moments), and further solidified my love for this entire series. Absolutely stands up to re-reads! LOVED IT!
