Crazy Bibliophile and Book Pimp (Not So Anonymous)

I am a mother of two boys and avid reader; I practically live and breathe books. If I could sustain my life on just reading, I would live forever. I'm weird, and proud of it. I have traveled to many places: Mexico, St. Marteen, Prague, England, Cozumel, and Canada to name a few. Many moons ago I co-hosted "Welcome to Insanity" radio show on a micro radio station in TX- but our show was played via streaming internet in coffee houses in Amsterdam. I have a BA in theater. I used to be "the finder of lost things" but I think my last child robbed me of my gift. Now I just have a large collection of useless information... it goes with my growing mountain of "to be read" books

Currently reading

Twisted Perfection (Perfection, #1) - Abbi Glines I'm only sticking with 4 stars, although I would say it does have a little 'extra' to that 4. There are certain authors out there, generally readers will either like or not. Abbi Glines (so far) for me has a distinctive 'Southern' voice for many of her female characters, and so much baggage and pain. I've found that Southern charm cozy and comfortable, and eagerly await more!

Della doesn't just have skeletons in her closet, there is an entire cemetery. 'Crazy' just is a starting point in describing her youth, and also the exact thing she's running from. A random kismet brush of fate brings Della into Rosemary, and directly into Woods' path. He's had his entire future planned out for him practically since birth. Instead of being groomed and bred for a position that should have automatically fallen to him, he has to 'prove' to his father his ability while also succumbing to his prescribed fate. A fate without Della, a simple one night stand, a stranger, who haunts him...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I truly enjoy this whole series (though this is technically a stand-alone, the 'Too Far' series runs alongside this book) and especially enjoyed getting to read about Woods and still seeing cameos from Blaire (just to name one.) However, there was an issue I had with this one compared to the Too Far series. I never got totally comfortable with Della. Her upbringing, her past, and her experiences (and lack thereof) went a long way to explaining her, but I still found some of her behavior incongruous. It wasn't something that was huge and obvious and hampered my reading enjoyment, but I just couldn't give that extra star to a full 5 because of it.

Overall, it is a fun but surprisingly deep romance. Damaged female, aloof rich families, and Woods caught between them. If you plan to read the Too Far series as well, be sure to read in this order:
